THE NATURAL SIGHTS OF TAIVALKOSKI
Taivalkoski is situated in the southernmost fell region of Lapland, in the middle of four national parks. A large of part of the Syöte National Park is located at Taivalkoski, for example its highest point, Pyhitystunturi. You can also enjoy daytrips to nearby Oulanka, Riisitunturi and Hossa National Park, which is located partially at Taivalkoski. The beautiful Iijoki river that flows freely through the parish gives a rugged edge to the landscapes of Taivalkoski. Here, visitors can enjoy the bountiful and peaceful local nature, and try some of the trails in the Kylmäluoma hiking area.
