Frisbee Golf

At Taivalvaara, there are two 18-hole courses, winding around the ski slopes of the ski resort and in the forest. Near the Kylmäluoma Visitor Centre, there is a 9-hole course which is about a kilometre long and free to use. You can rent frisbees from Taivalkoski or the Kylmäluoma Visitor Centre.

Pöllimehtä Frisbeegolf, Taivalvaara

After the Paula storm destroyed the previous courses, Pöllimehtä Disc Golf was built in summer 2022 in the Taivalvaara ski resort area. The course offers a variety of fairways with significant elevation changes, making for a fun and challenging game.

Make sure to bring enough water, as the climbs and descents demand not only precise distance control but also good physical condition. And true to its name, the unique forest-themed elements along the course make great material for your social media photos.

Kylmäluoma Frisbeegolf

A disc golfer’s paradise – a challenging 18-hole course set in peaceful nature, with a nearby campsite offering accommodation, meals, and a beach for post-game relaxation. And when your throwing arm needs a break, you’ll find amazing fishing opportunities just steps away.

The previous AMA course was destroyed by Storm Paula, but Kylmäluoma chose to go full speed ahead – and in summer 2022, a brand new, full-length course was built. The layout includes more technical holes at the beginning and end, while the middle section rewards powerful arms, elevation control, and solid physical condition.

In summer 2023, the course was expanded with an additional 12-hole layout on flatter terrain – perfect for a more relaxed round or for players seeking an easier route.

Tervas Frisbeegolf

The newest and freshest addition to Taivalkoski’s disc golf family is located at Syvärinlampi. Built in summer 2023, this 18-hole course winds through flatter terrain, where technique and disc control play a bigger role than sheer throwing power.

The course is located just off Highway 20, behind the water jump, and is currently marked with temporary signage.

A 9-hole beginner-friendly course that also offers a great technical practice round for more experienced players.

Park at the athletics field parking area.

Keep an eye out for the trolls hiding on each hole, and don’t forget to snap a photo with the troll face board – with your own face in it!

Puttipark at the Paddling Center

A putting course with two baskets, each offering multiple ways to play – or feel free to invent your own games!

Challenge your friends and sharpen your putting skills together. There are 42 built putting spots, but you’re welcome to putt from anywhere you like.
